Moonbox Productions is partnering with Trans Resistance MA for its current production of that gender-bending, fabulous glam-rock musical “Rocky Horror Picture Show,” on stage through Oct. 31 at Moonbox’s pop-up theater at 25 Brattle St. in Harvard Square.
Here’s the scoop from the Country Gazette/Wicked Local:
“With each of their shows, Moonbox Productions partners with a local nonprofit, sharing space on their website and in promotional materials. Moonbox also gives nonprofit partners access to their audiences, helping non-profits to raise awareness for their cause, create connections within their community, and increase the reach and impact of their work. For the production of “The Rocky Horror Show,” Moonbox will be partnering with Trans Resistance Massachusetts.
“Trans Resistance Massachusetts advocates for the safety, joy, and liberation of TQBIPOC (transgender and queer Black and Indigenous people of color) in Massachusetts. Founded in 2020 by a collective of trans and queer activists, Trans Resistance MA hosts an annual March & Vigil in June to demand inclusion, representation, and equality for transgender people–specifically transgender people of color–in Massachusetts. We proudly partner with peer organizations in our community throughout the year and show up wherever representation is needed. For more information visit: www.transresistancema.com.”
States Moonbox Productions on their mission and values web page, “We believe in creating spaces that reflect the diversity of our shared community, both on and off the stage, where under-represented voices, including BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+, and people living with disabilities feel valued and important.”
