Elizabeth Yvette Ramirez (she/her) is a professional Stage Manager and small theater director. She was the Artistic Director of the Calliope Project Theatre (2011- 2014) and got involved in local arts activism after their regular venue, the Factory Theatre was closed. She continues to advocate for artists with Actor’s Equity Association as the Boston Liaison Chair. Elizabeth will also represent Boston as Liaison Delegate at the first national Actor’s Equity Convention in 2021.
As an Equity stage manager Elizabeth has worked with Central Square Theater, Moonbox Productions, Greater Boston Stage Company, New Repertory Theatre, Actors’ Shakespeare Project, Reagle Music Theater, and more. After directing with The Calliope Project and Ministry of Theater, Elizabeth found an artistic home as a company member at Flat Earth Theatre, an egalitarian theater company, where she directed the Norton Award nominated production of Not Medea in 2019.
Since the pandemic Elizabeth has been lucky to work on multiple digital projects and zoom theater, and one in-person show (4th in the country!). She’s also joined local organizations including the Greater Boston Artistic Directors group, STAB, and Line Drawn to work on anti-harassment, promote anti-racism initiatives, and reform exploitative practices in the theater community. She lives in Malden with her wife Olivia and their cat Tater Tot.
